ZHOU TAO: "BLUE AND RED"
On 24 November, the Han Nefkens Foundation presented, at MACBA’s Convent dels Àngels Auditorium, the video "Blue and Red" (2014) by the Chinese artist Zhou Tao (Guangzhou, 1976), winner of the first HNF / BACC Award for Contemporary Asian Art, presented by the FHN in Bangkok on January 2014.
The video Blue and Red was produced during Zhou Tao’s stay in Bangkok, coinciding with a turbulent moment in the history of the country, marked by an attempted coup d’état. As a document, it illustrates the civil war atmosphere in a subjective and poetic manner. Time and landscapes mix fluidly to narrate a story of extreme sensuality, despite its semi-documentary character.
Presentation of the video was on TUESDAY 24 NOVEMBER 2015, AT 7.30 pm. Venue: MACBA’s Convent dels Àngels Auditorium. The video screened until 30 NOVEMBER 2015 on Museum hours.
The video was also presented at the Boijmans Museum (Rotterdam) on December 4th, 2015 until January 10th, 2016.
